How To Get Into Chicago Marathon 2024
Unfortunately , the application deadline for the regular entries for the 2024 Chicago Marathon has already passed on November 16, 2023. But don’t worry Guys there are still a few ways you might be able to snag a spot -:
Chicago Marathon Guaranteed Entry
- Drawing : You can enter the drawing for non-guaranteed entries – which takes place after the guaranteed entry deadline. The entry fee for the drawing is $240 for US residents & $250 for non-US residents. The drawing results will be announced on February 12th, 2024. To enter the drawing:
- Visit the Chicago Marathon website
- Click on Apply Button
- Select Non-Guaranteed Entry
- Complete application form
- Then submit your payment
- Charity Program: Many charities partner with the Chicago Marathon and offer guaranteed entry to those who commit to raising funds for them. You can visit the official charity index on the marathon website to see which charities have spots available & to find out what their fundraising requirements .
- International Tour Program: Register with an official Bank of America Chicago Marathon International Tour Program (CMITP) – which may offer guaranteed entries past the regular deadline. So Visit Now Guys
- Legacy Finisher: If youve completed the Chicago Marathon ( 5 ) five or / more times within the last 10 years (2013-2023) – you qualify as a legacy finisher & have guaranteed entry.
- 2023 Series Completer : If you finished all three 2023 Bank of America Chicago Distance Series events (Shamrock Shuffle – Chicago 13.1, & Chicago Marathon), you are eligible for guaranteed entry in 2024.
- Cancelled Entry: If you had to cancel your 2023 Chicago Marathon entry & chose to defer it to 2024, youll have a guaranteed spot in the 2024 race.
Chicago Marathon Non Guaranteed Entry
- Waitlist: You can join the waitlist for a chance to be selected in a random drawing for any remaining spots. but the chances of getting a spot through the waitlist are slim.
Other Options:
- Volunteer: Consider volunteering at the race. This is a great way to experience the event & support the runners.
- Run a different race: If the Chicago Marathon is your dream race – consider training for it next year & entering the 2025 race. There are many other great marathons out there that you could run in the meantime.

The Bank of America Chicago Marathon will take place on Sunday – October 13 – 2024.
The race starts & finishes in Grant Park located in downtown Chicago. The course winds its way through some of the city’s most famous neighborhoods – including ( Lincoln Park, Lakeview, Wrigleyville, Chinatown, & Pilsen. )
